About this journey
Our most popular Azerbaijan itinerary covers the whole country in eight unhurried days. You spend five nights in central Baku and two in the Caucasus foothills at Gabala, travelling by private air-conditioned vehicle with an English-speaking driver. The route takes in the UNESCO old city, the Heydar Aliyev Centre, the Gobustan petroglyphs and mud volcanoes, the fire sites of the Absheron peninsula, the silk-road palaces of Sheki and the alpine ridgelines of Shahdag. Accommodation is in well-run three-star hotels chosen for location rather than frills, which keeps the price sharp without compromising the sightseeing.

Your driver meets you at Heydar Aliyev International Airport and transfers you privately to the hotel. After check-in and a short rest, head out on a panoramic orientation drive along the Caspian seafront, past the Flame Towers and Government House, ending with an easy evening stroll on Baku Boulevard.
