A 6-night wildlife and spice trail through Periyar's forests and Wayanad's plantations and caves.
Indicative twin-sharing price. Flights, visas and taxes apply only when listed in inclusions.
About this journey
This 6-night adventure is built for travellers who want Kerala's forests and highlands rather than its beaches or backwaters. You start in Kochi for an overnight before heading to Thekkady, where the Periyar Tiger Reserve offers boat safaris on Periyar Lake and guided spice plantation walks through cardamom, pepper and clove estates. From there you cross the Western Ghats to Wayanad for jungle safaris in the Muthanga Wildlife Sanctuary, a trek to the Edakkal Caves with their prehistoric rock carvings, and visits to working plantations and tribal heritage museums. Accommodation is in nature-facing resorts with a private vehicle throughout, and the pace favours early-morning wildlife activity over leisure time. It suits couples, small groups and wildlife enthusiasts wanting a genuinely active Kerala itinerary.
