Why Katra & Vaishno Devi

Katra is the base town for the Vaishno Devi shrine, set in the Trikuta hills of Jammu. Pilgrims either walk the thirteen-kilometre lit pathway or take the helicopter shuttle to Sanjichhat and finish the last stretch on foot. The town runs on darshan timings, hot langar meals and early starts, and the whole journey can be completed comfortably in a long weekend.

  • Helicopter shuttle to Sanjichhat
  • Bhawan darshan with assisted queue
  • Bhairon Baba temple
  • Jammu's Raghunath temple
