Day 01: Arrive Cochin – Munnar ( Morning flight and drive )
Arrive by a morning flight. Meet and greet at the airport by a language speaking guide who would take you around Cochin City. It is also known as Kochi.
Cochin (Kochi) is spread across islands and promontories in a stunning location between the Arabian Sea and the Backwaters. The city was founded in 1341 when a flood created a natural safe port, which became the principal harbour for Malabar Coast’s spice trade. Cochin was on the main trade route between Europe and China. The rulers invited people of various religions to settle here, attracting the Jews and the Christians who built places of worship and their own communities.
Half day sightseeing tour of Cochin includes St. Francis Church, which is the oldest European church on Indian soil. Thereafter, visit The Jewish Synagogue which dates back to the 17th century and has pretty patterned floor tiles that were brought in from China. The Synagogue and Jewish Town in Mattancherry is home to the 20 odd Jews who still live in India, mostly old timers, they chose to stay on even after the creation of Israel. Lastly, visit the Chinese fishing nets resting on their cantilevered stands along the waters. The technique came from Kubla Khan’s court and till date serves the purpose for catching fresh water fish in large quantities. Lunch and later drive to Munnar.
Munnar is a Hill Station on the Western Ghats in South India and is in a range of mountains in the Idduki district of Kerala State.This green hill station is surrounded by the country’s highest tea gardens. Layers and layers of tea estates, mountain mist, waterfalls and wildlife sanctuaries make Munnar almost surrealistically beautiful. The lofty mountain ranges with misty peaks, sprawling tea estates and serene climate provides a quite and peaceful resort. This little sleepy village atop the western ghats is situated at the confluence of three mountain streams namely Mudrapuzha, Nallathanni and Kundala. Panoramic views of lowflying clouds and mistfilled valleys make it a pretty little heaven with a cool, bracing climate. Misty mountain peaks blend harmoniously in Munnar to create a blissful atmosphere that is hard to describe. On the way you can watch the rubber and pineapple plantations, the lovely waterfalls in Cheeyappara and Valara and the Karadippara view point. Check in to the hotel as you reach and relax for a while. Later visit the Blossom Garden and the Tata Tea Museum, if time allows; Enjoy the candle light dinner and stay in flower decorated room at Munnar.
Day 02 : Munnar
Proceed for sightseeing trip of Munnar after the breakfast; Visit Eravikulam National Park at Rajamalai where you can see the rare specious of Nilgiri Tahr, Mattupetty Dam which offers many fascinating sights to relish, the Shola forests around Mattupetty area and Kundala Dam. Visit Photo shooting Point, Echo Point, View Point & green carpet of Tea Gardens on the way. Overnight stay at Munnar.
Day 03: Munnar –Thekkady
Proceed to Thekkady after breakfast; Enjoy the drive through the tea mountains and the picturesque green carpet of the nature. Check in to your Hotel. You can recreate yourself by having optional activities like spice plantation Tour, Bamboo Rafting, Trekking and Elephant ride.
Visit the Periyar Wild life Sanctuary, where one can go for a Wildlife cruise to view a large variety of wild animal lke Wild Elephants, Nilgiri Langur, Sambar Deer, Wild Bison, Wild Boar etc; And quite a lot of unique birds can also be spotted.
Day 04: Alleypey
Proceed to Alleppey after the breakfast; Board to the houseboat and begin the enchanting backwater cruise. A cruise in a “Kettuvallam” (Houseboat) through the enchanting backwaters is sure to rob your heart. Enjoy the lunch, tea snacks and candle light dinner on board. Overnight stay in the Luxury Houseboat.
Day 05: Alleypey – Kovalam
After breakfast drive to Kovalam beach resort. Check in to your Hotel Sagara Beach Resort After lunch visit the Trivandrum City. Evening at leisure and overnight at Hotel.
Morning breakfast at leisure and later drive to Kanyakumari and spend as much time there by visiting Vivekanand Rock Temple. Vivekanand visited for the first time and swam till the rock and meditated there and wowed to serve human beings. Also visit Poovar and Temples etc. Later return to Kovalam . Overnight in Hotel
Day 07: Trivandrum – Onward Journey
Morning breakfast and later transfer to airport for your flight to your onward destination.
